From the heart of  Afghanistan to the Bay Area, Qatra Cafe carries a journey of tradition and connection. I immigrated to the United States more than forty years ago and only recently returned to visit our homeland for the first time with my family.

In Afghan culture, offering tea is the first gesture of welcome, an invitation to connection, conversation, and community. To sit together over tea honors tradition and reminds us that even the simplest offerings can carry the deepest meaning.
